AI cover scanning

No barcode? Just show it the cover.

Old paperbacks, signed first editions, books from before barcodes existed. Take a photo of the front and Book Box reads the title and author for you, usually in about two seconds.

  • The cover is cropped straight on your phone, so your photo looks as good as the one in the shop.
  • If it reads a book you might already own, it tells you before you save a second copy.

Good to know.

Is Book Box really free?
Yes. You can catalogue up to 125 books, scan barcodes, track lending and reading, and try the AI cover scanner once, without paying anything. Premium is for bigger collections and for sharing.
What if a book has no barcode?
Take a photo of the cover and the AI scanner reads the title and author for you. You can also type an ISBN, or add any book by hand.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes, on iPhone and iPad. Sign in with the same account and your library is on both.
What happens to my books if I cancel Premium?
Nothing is deleted. Your whole library stays, and you can still see everything in it. The free limits apply again to new books and new AI scans.
Who can see my library?
Only you, unless you share it. You can invite specific people, or turn on a public link, and switch either off at any time. Books you mark private are never shown to anyone. Read the privacy policy for the details.
